This is our 4th time coming here and everytime the service, the food and drink and the atmosphere has been wonderful. We have lived in this area for a few years now and I’m happy that we have found a place that we love coming back to. Many blessings to this business and all running it!

We found Castro’s Cafe in Google and it didn’t disappoint. The cafe is an airy atmosphere with a friendly, welcoming decor, the staff are friendly. Most days you’re greeted by Jaime, he’s an asset to the business and makes you feel like you’re visiting family, he’s the main baker. He specializes in Puerto Rican pastries, from traditional flans, bread pudding including not so traditional treats like cannolis to pumpkin spice turnovers. Castro’s serves breakfast and lunch, if cafe con leche is on your mind you’ll certain love the rich flavored coffee. Authentic Tampa Cuban sandwich’s are a great lunch option. Castro’s opens daily at 7:00am closes at 2:00pm and closed on Sunday’s

Such a pleasant family owned and operated Cafe! A welcoming atmosphere with a home-town feel, tasty sandwiches, and fresh baked goodies that make the place smell delicious! They also have a delicious collection of beverages and coffee drinks, both frozen and not. What a great find in Polk City! Oh, and they can do call-ahead orders too!

Okay yal. RUN TO CASTROS! We visited from Virginia and saw the great reviews for Castros and decided to try it out. We ordered a bunch of items because everything looked tasty. Shoutout to the barista - the cookie chai frozen latte (with coffee instead of milk) was the BEST frappe I’ve ever had. My fiancé and I were hooked. Shoutout to the bakery - the guava quesito was delicious, cooked to perfection and dangerously addictive. Thanks Castro’s for making our stay even sweeter!

Everything we had here was delicious! Highly recommend the coquito latte and a Cuban, we had 2 coffees a Cuban and bacon egg and cheese bagel for $30 so absolutely reasonable. The only downfall for us not them was it was super busy on a Monday right before noon we originally wanted to eat there but was a bit crowded so we ended eating in the car besides that everything was great!

This place has become one of my favorites. You can find everything from sandwiches, wraps and salads even rice and beans on Wednesdays, not to mention the delicious coffee and tempting desserts. The best part is that they make you feel like family.

We absolutely love Castro’s Cafe. Everyone is super nice. They treat you like family. The food is excellent. The Castro Special sandwich is delicious and they make the most delicious Tampa Cuban sandwich. The pork is slow cooked to perfection. In my opinion it’s the best around. The pastries are delicious too. The quesitos (glazed puff pastry filled with a sugary cream cheese mixture)are yummy!!! Must must try! ❤️

Stumbled upon this place after moving from another county. This place has AMAZING Cubans!! Very full of meat and cheese and more importantly, made just how a genuine Cuban should be made! This place is 15 min away from my new home which is perfect!

Castro Café is hands down the best coffee spot around! Every time I stop by, the quality, flavor, and service remind me why this place is such a hidden gem in Polk City. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the smell of fresh coffee and warm, authentic flavors that feel like home. Their coffee is simply amazing—bold, smooth, and perfectly balanced. You can really taste the quality in every cup, whether you’re grabbing a quick cafecito or sitting down to enjoy a slow morning. It’s the kind of coffee that keeps you coming back again and again. The Cuban sandwich is on another level. The bread is fresh and perfectly toasted, the pork is flavorful and tender, and everything comes together in a way that’s hard to beat. It’s easily one of the best Cuban sandwiches I’ve had in the area. If you’re hungry, this is a must-try. And if you have a sweet tooth, you’re in for a treat. Their quesitos and other pastries are absolutely delicious—flaky, sweet, and always fresh. Every bite feels like a little piece of Puerto Rico. Sometimes they even have tembleque, and I love it. It’s creamy, lightly sweet, and the perfect dessert after a great meal. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and fast, which makes the experience even better. You can tell they care about their customers and the food they serve. If you’re in Polk City or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop by Castro Café. Visiting my parents and decided pick up lunch for the family. They kept talking about Castro's and their great Cubanos. (Bonus points for being on sale on Tuesdays.) We called the order in and they were hot and ready when we stopped by to pick up. Adorable Cafe and I cant wait to go back to try their coffee and delicious looking pastries! The cubano was flavorful and delicious! Highly recommend!
